Noven’s technology is unique. Unlike other drug-in-adhesive or reservoir transdermal systems, Noven’s DOT Matrix™ system uses a patented multiple adhesive blend of silicone, acrylic and drug. The result: patches that are adaptable for use with a wide range of medications and yield benefits that set products apart from their competitors. Our patches are small, comfortable and adherent, and offer reproducible blood levels.

•	Because Noven’s patches deliver drug more efficiently, they are smaller than competing transdermal systems.
•	Because our patches use one adhesive to hold the drug and one to make the patch stick, they exhibit excellent adhesion.

Noven’s extensive patent portfolio, which extends through 2014 and beyond, presents significant developmental barriers to competitors who generally are left to turn to single adhesive transdermal systems. The result is often a less efficient, less desirable patch product.

Compared to oral formulations, Noven’s transdermal technology can:

•	Provide once-daily to once-weekly delivery systems with steady drug action;
•	Eliminate first-pass metabolism;
•	Introduce less drug into the body to achieve therapeutic blood levels;
•	Increase patient compliance and convenience;
•	Reduce food and systemic drug interactions and associated side effects;
•	Reduce certain forms of drug abuse; and
•	Permit flexibility of dose duration via patch removal.
